For my songsters, assuming you are still are out there (since I haven't posted as often as I use to I fear I have lost some of you), do you know what era that song is from? Even the lyrics? DON'T CHEAT! DON'T LOOK IT UP!!!
Sorry I have been MIA. I just haven't been in the mood to blog, not that there is much to blog about!
Dan has been finding a few mushrooms. We just collect them in a freezer bag and stick them in the freezer till the bag gets full. Since we haven't had ANY RAIN I am amazed that he is finding any mushrooms at all. But then, without the rain, but bugs aren't bad, but fire danger is high. Toss up; mushrooms or fire danger? I think I'll take mushrooms AND the bugs.
So, not much to tell ya; Dan and I will be making a road trip to Petoskey on Tuesday. It is about a
2 1/2 hour drive south of us, so yep, we'll be seeing the Mighty Mac.
I have to see a cardiologist on Tuesday. I had an ultra sound on my carotid arteries and while there is no plaque to speak of, there is something going on that isn't right so need to find out what it is. I'm thinking whatever it is MIGHT be why none of the blood pressure meds have worked. Or maybe my screwed up neck is pressing on something that it shouldn't.
I NEVER had an issue with my BP (other than it was occasionally low) till I had that little surgery on my arm to remove those lumpy things from under my skin. Since then it has been trouble for me!
And taking my BP faithfully has done nothing but depress me even more so which I'm assuming is not helping things either.
Dan and Rory split a bit of wood today before Dan's back started bothering him. I have pretty much pleaded with him to NOT SPLIT WOOD. The neighbor kids down the road sell it so it isn't like we actually have to, but Dan enjoys cutting wood (getting it ready to split) and running his saws. But even that has gotten so it bothers him too. Hell to get old, eh?
OH!!!! I have a new camera and I am truly amazed with it. It is a Luminex FZ200 and it has a Leica lens. So many nice features and the optical zoom is amazing...and I can use it without a tripod!
I'll post a few of the photos if Google cooperates, otherwise you can still check photos at
my Flickr pages
Keep in touch! I'm anxious to see if you know what is gnu at the zoo!
- Cathy Clementz
- A long time ago, I was a child. (I started out as Cathy First from Colon, Mi.) For the past several years I’ve been an adult. A lot of things went on between those two stages of life; probably no more or no less than anyone elses. My husband and I moved to “da U .P” from southern Lower Michigan several years ago (yes we were trolls at one time). We owned and operated and operate Clementz’s Northcountry Campground and Cabins just north of Newberry, Michigan until May 2015. We have grown kids and grandkids (who all live downstate). My passion is life and all that Nature has to offer us and trying to photograph it in unique ways. Our intention in life is to see all that Nature has to offer us. We hope that you will be a part of our adventures as we cruise through our lives together. Come back often!
