I've really not posted much this trip, have I?
Nothing much has been going on because so far all of our work has consisted of working the deer check station from 1 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
I think there is one more hunt after this one, then we'll be out working on the refuge. I believe that the goal for us is to number all the foot paths....we could be a while, but it'll be good exercise!
The LEO's were sharing photos that they had each taken of the same set of turtles mating, only neither one realized that the OTHER one had taken a photo...which says to me turtle sex must be pretty damn slow.
Tom, one of the LEO's was going to tell us something about this, but I don't think he ever got around to it because his story started out "When they were done..." And someone interrupted him and asked how he KNEW they were done, to which he replied, "because the big guy on top asked me for a cigarette"!
- Cathy Clementz
- A long time ago, I was a child. (I started out as Cathy First from Colon, Mi.) For the past several years I’ve been an adult. A lot of things went on between those two stages of life; probably no more or no less than anyone elses. My husband and I moved to “da U .P” from southern Lower Michigan several years ago (yes we were trolls at one time). We owned and operated and operate Clementz’s Northcountry Campground and Cabins just north of Newberry, Michigan until May 2015. We have grown kids and grandkids (who all live downstate). My passion is life and all that Nature has to offer us and trying to photograph it in unique ways. Our intention in life is to see all that Nature has to offer us. We hope that you will be a part of our adventures as we cruise through our lives together. Come back often!
