About Me

My photo
A long time ago, I was a child. (I started out as Cathy First from Colon, Mi.) For the past several years I’ve been an adult. A lot of things went on between those two stages of life; probably no more or no less than anyone elses. My husband and I moved to “da U .P” from southern Lower Michigan several years ago (yes we were trolls at one time). We owned and operated and operate Clementz’s Northcountry Campground and Cabins just north of Newberry, Michigan until May 2015. We have grown kids and grandkids (who all live downstate). My passion is life and all that Nature has to offer us and trying to photograph it in unique ways. Our intention in life is to see all that Nature has to offer us. We hope that you will be a part of our adventures as we cruise through our lives together. Come back often!

WE ARE SO FORTUNATE

I was just looking back thru photos I'd taken last year and came across my Piedmont NWR photos.

We have been so fortunate to have been able to meet all the various people we have met while traveling/working in different places.

I look at these photos and I think of all the preparation that goes into just PREPARING for a prescribed burn; all the knowledge and team work it takes to make it seem like there was no effort to burning 500-2000 acres at all. How they pretty much have control of the fire, which is not an easy thing to do.   And we have been fortunate that the people that do this have been so willing to share their knowledge and experience with us.  They have all come to mean a great deal to both Dan and me.

So, yes we are counting the days till we can see everyone again.  This  year we won't be there for the burns, but whatever it is that we will be doing, I know they will all be willing to share their expertise with  us.

Here are some photos of our Piedmont friends.  See you in about 17 days!!!

And bringing up the rear, our friend Glenn!!!
