About Me

My photo
A long time ago, I was a child. (I started out as Cathy First from Colon, Mi.) For the past several years I’ve been an adult. A lot of things went on between those two stages of life; probably no more or no less than anyone elses. My husband and I moved to “da U .P” from southern Lower Michigan several years ago (yes we were trolls at one time). We owned and operated and operate Clementz’s Northcountry Campground and Cabins just north of Newberry, Michigan until May 2015. We have grown kids and grandkids (who all live downstate). My passion is life and all that Nature has to offer us and trying to photograph it in unique ways. Our intention in life is to see all that Nature has to offer us. We hope that you will be a part of our adventures as we cruise through our lives together. Come back often!

STRUCTURES LOST IN FIRE

If you followed me when I reported on the Sleeper Lake Fire, you know I always tried to wait to confirm "rumors" before posting anything.

I have some info that came from a reliable source about structures that have been destroyed by the Duck Lake Fire.  I asked if the owners had been notified and they responded they were sure they had been.  So, since I DO NOT KNOW for 100% certainty if this is the case, I'm not reporting any "who"s yet.

Keep checking....

While looking at the facebook page for Seney wildlife refuge (fire pics comments), it was said on there the fire reached Lake Superior. I believe this came from someone involved with the fire containment. Hope any information helps. I always went to that whole area camping growing up. So many memories there....still to be made. Thank you for updates.

Thanks Cathy for the great reporting. Our fires are still raging here also and 12 structures reported lost at this time. Sandy
