About Me

My photo
A long time ago, I was a child. (I started out as Cathy First from Colon, Mi.) For the past several years I’ve been an adult. A lot of things went on between those two stages of life; probably no more or no less than anyone elses. My husband and I moved to “da U .P” from southern Lower Michigan several years ago (yes we were trolls at one time). We owned and operated and operate Clementz’s Northcountry Campground and Cabins just north of Newberry, Michigan until May 2015. We have grown kids and grandkids (who all live downstate). My passion is life and all that Nature has to offer us and trying to photograph it in unique ways. Our intention in life is to see all that Nature has to offer us. We hope that you will be a part of our adventures as we cruise through our lives together. Come back often!

May just FLEW by.  Hopefully the rest of the summer will be as good to us as May business has been.  This was our best May in SEVERAL years.

And that's kind of why you haven't heard much from me lately.

It is still very dry, in fact there is a fire at Seney National Wildlife Refuge in excess of 600 acres so far, and there had been (or still is) a fire north of here that the DNR is involved with.  We haven't heard much about it, so I don't think it has gotten out of hand yet.  PRAY FOR RAIN.

We put the window a/c's in today.  Now watch; it won't get above 78 the rest of the season!  Bugs haven't been too bad, but when I was mowing yesterday I did get a couple of deer fly bites.  We've hardly seen or heard any mosquitoes, which is the only blessing from lack of rain.

In case you didn't know it, the Logging Museum, just a couple of miles south of us has it's first event of the summer on Saturday.  Their famous Lumberjack Breakfast from seven till noon.  IF YOU LEAVE HUNGRY IT IS YOUR FAULT!!

The hummingbirds are BUSY this year!!!  We're not sure how many we have but we know there is at least 6 and they are keeping me busy making "go go juice" for them.  I'm not complaining!  They are so much fun to watch..and photograph!!

Here's a couple of the little fellas for ya....
