About Me

My photo
A long time ago, I was a child. (I started out as Cathy First from Colon, Mi.) For the past several years I’ve been an adult. A lot of things went on between those two stages of life; probably no more or no less than anyone elses. My husband and I moved to “da U .P” from southern Lower Michigan several years ago (yes we were trolls at one time). We owned and operated and operate Clementz’s Northcountry Campground and Cabins just north of Newberry, Michigan until May 2015. We have grown kids and grandkids (who all live downstate). My passion is life and all that Nature has to offer us and trying to photograph it in unique ways. Our intention in life is to see all that Nature has to offer us. We hope that you will be a part of our adventures as we cruise through our lives together. Come back often!

Have you ever wondered what it is like on the other side of the white light?  This is my version.

Today the CATV gets shut off.  Good thing Dan is now addicted to Mahjong Titans.  He has my old laptop and I installed a couple games on it for him...AND HE IS ADDDICTED TO THIS GAME JUST LIKE I AM!

I'm hoping that he will get more comfy with the computer and then I can show him how he can load HIS photos onto the computer and crop them or do simple things with the Picassa photo program.  It is a free download from, who else, Google.  I had used it for years and I still do use it  on occasion.

We have to be in the Soo at 8:30 a.m. tomorrow so we'll be leaving just after the crack of dark.  It isn't quite dawn yet at that time.  Dan still hurts a bit and standing or walking on hard surfaces is difficult for him, so when we try to find him new jeans, he will just have to grin and bare it.  It isn't just the walking, but he hates trying on clothes!  Wal-Mart no longer carries the jeans we have gotten for the past 20 years!  If they did, he wouldn't have to try anything on.  What a pain, eh?  Anyway, Dan sees his VA dr tomorrow so we hope he has the results of his MRI.  We've been waiting on that before we start packing the 5th wheel....just in case.

Can you believe this weather???  We've been sleeping with the windows open most of the month!  And today is another gorgeous day!  A lot of leaves are off the trees, but there is still good color in the woods.  We can all thumb our noses at the heating bill...for now anyway.

Yesterday, we managed to get the American flag down and folded, got the road sign put in and a few other simple things.  Wednesday I hope to start cleaning the bathhouse (bleaching the walls, etc) so we can be ready to close that up.  And we'll have the campground water lines to blow out.  We think this is the longest we have been able to leave the water turned on to the campsites.

So, that's about it.  Other than counting the HOURS till we leave!!!
