About Me

My photo
A long time ago, I was a child. (I started out as Cathy First from Colon, Mi.) For the past several years I’ve been an adult. A lot of things went on between those two stages of life; probably no more or no less than anyone elses. My husband and I moved to “da U .P” from southern Lower Michigan several years ago (yes we were trolls at one time). We owned and operated and operate Clementz’s Northcountry Campground and Cabins just north of Newberry, Michigan until May 2015. We have grown kids and grandkids (who all live downstate). My passion is life and all that Nature has to offer us and trying to photograph it in unique ways. Our intention in life is to see all that Nature has to offer us. We hope that you will be a part of our adventures as we cruise through our lives together. Come back often!

I AM RIGHT UP THERE WITH OBAMA NOW!!

Hey, I am already sick of all the politicking going on, and this bus tour our prez it taking to "listen to the people".  I think we all know it is a campaign tour.

Here are some things to consider;

If any other of our presidents
had pronounced the Marine Corps
as if it were the Marine Corpse,
would you think him an Idiot?

If any other of our presidents
had been the first President to need a
teleprompter installed to be able to get through
a press conference, would you have laughed and said
this is more proof of how inept he is on his own and is
really controlled by smarter men behind the scenes?

If any other of our presidents
had spent hundreds of thousands of Dollars
to take his First Lady to a play in NYC,
would you have approved?

If any other of our presidents
had bowed to the King of Saudi Arabia ,
would you have approved?

OK, you get my drift.  But as bad as those things are, I wouldn't want the job.  And I'm sure it is easy to get "tang-toungueled" when you are speaking in front of a LOT of people.

But I digress...yesterday was MY day to really shine....

We had a  young couple and their two children staying in the Little Lodge.  Yesterday was their day to check out.  We found out during the course of a previous conversation that they recently moved to Illinois from Bombay, India.

When the Mom and Dad brought the keys in to return them, Mom came in rubbing her hands over her protruding belly, walking like a pregnant woman does.  She had on a very lose fitting blouse.  And I said "When is your baby due?"  OK, from now on, unless I actually see a baby coming out of a woman, I will never, ever ask that question again.  SHE WAS NOT PREGNANT!!!

It was very embarrassing for me and I'm sure her as well.  Boy, am I good at PR or what?!  Obviously I apologized up one side and down the other, but the words were out.  They were not outwardly upset or mad, but I'm sure they had plenty to say when they got in their car and drove off.  ARRGHHH!!!!  I can't believe that happened.

I can now claim THIS as my most embarrassing moment in my LIFE!

Maybe I should have bowed??!

Yup, he rides around on vacation (I can't afford to take one) in a new $1.1 million bus while I drive around in a 10 year old (paid for) Blazer. Yup 0bama's trying to connect with us common folk.

  4. Cher, I will remember that! And as I said, never again....

Gary, sickening isn't it? I sometimes wonder if this is "his way" of getting back at the whites for what transpired years ago, during slavery times.

    Bigmurf, No dots...just a belly!
