About Me

My photo
A long time ago, I was a child. (I started out as Cathy First from Colon, Mi.) For the past several years I’ve been an adult. A lot of things went on between those two stages of life; probably no more or no less than anyone elses. My husband and I moved to “da U .P” from southern Lower Michigan several years ago (yes we were trolls at one time). We owned and operated and operate Clementz’s Northcountry Campground and Cabins just north of Newberry, Michigan until May 2015. We have grown kids and grandkids (who all live downstate). My passion is life and all that Nature has to offer us and trying to photograph it in unique ways. Our intention in life is to see all that Nature has to offer us. We hope that you will be a part of our adventures as we cruise through our lives together. Come back often!

We have had a rough couple of days, or I should say DAN has.  But his story will be another time and most of it is on FB if you want to catch the early version.

But I'm seriously thinking about posting this in the lobby.....

1.    Your cell phone doesn’t have a signal; most times OURS doesn’t either.

2.    It rains, snows, sleets, hails, thunders, lightening or there are hoards of mosquitoes.  It is called CAMPING.  We’ll be glad to take credit for good weather…which is when we won’t hear anything from you.

3.    Your computer doesn’t get our signal.  92% of our guests are able to get online at their site.  An additional 3% have said it helps a lot if they remember to turn on their wifi.  The other 5% already blame us for the weather, their lack of cell phone signal and GPS issues (it always seems more than 5% when someone is yelling though), so of course this is our fault too.

4.    Your trusty GPS tells you to take a right and you end up someplace down a two track.  We still rely on maps and a trusty old compass....AND REMEMBER, YOUR CELL PHONE WON'T BE OF ANY HELP!

  1. Bottom line - there are people who CAMP and there are people who love to say they were 'camping!' You know, those who can't enjoy the outdoors and are tied to their electronic world like its their life support system. Sorry to hear you're having a rough week.
    'love & hugs from afar'

  2. P.S.
A quote from The Book of 'Thom' (my DH) "Verily I say: The assholes you will have with you always!" lol

  3. Cher, thanks. And I like the quote from hubby!

  4. Anonymous1:00 PM

In New Zealand my friend would say "people would moan if their ass was on fire".

As fulltimers we just sit and watch and listen to those kind of people.
