About Me

My photo
A long time ago, I was a child. (I started out as Cathy First from Colon, Mi.) For the past several years I’ve been an adult. A lot of things went on between those two stages of life; probably no more or no less than anyone elses. My husband and I moved to “da U .P” from southern Lower Michigan several years ago (yes we were trolls at one time). We owned and operated and operate Clementz’s Northcountry Campground and Cabins just north of Newberry, Michigan until May 2015. We have grown kids and grandkids (who all live downstate). My passion is life and all that Nature has to offer us and trying to photograph it in unique ways. Our intention in life is to see all that Nature has to offer us. We hope that you will be a part of our adventures as we cruise through our lives together. Come back often!

PREHISTORIC MOTHS???

prehistoric moths??

These two moths were on a screen door on the bathhouse.  Dan and I both thought they looked prehistoric.  There are some weird insects out there!!

It is going to be another hot one here today and tomorrow is supposed to be worse!  We had a hard rain and gusty wind about 11 p.m..  One of our guests slept through it and now his awning is on top of his RV.  I think he'll be staying another day.

Remember how excited I was about all the bedding I got on sale from Penney's (Or maybe I just posted that on FB??).  There were 4 full size sheet sets for the cabins, 2 queen sets for us, and 3 blankets for us...they are supposed to arrive today and just thinking about opening up a box of blankets in 89 degree weather with 70 percent humidity and the dew points pretty much matching the humidity...well, let's just say I'm not excited about the bedding anymore!

The grass has stopped growing but the buckhorn is thriving.  It makes the campground look "unkempt" with it sticking up all over the place.  But as hot as it is, even if it wasn't hotter sitting on a mower, it wouldn't help the healthy green grass to mow right now.

Still thinking about the photo thing...I'm not going to get hot and heavy into it if I do it but there are some ideas that I have.  Sometimes I think I have a brainstorm and it turns out to be a slight drizzle, so we'll see.

Stay cool!!!
