About Me

My photo
A long time ago, I was a child. (I started out as Cathy First from Colon, Mi.) For the past several years I’ve been an adult. A lot of things went on between those two stages of life; probably no more or no less than anyone elses. My husband and I moved to “da U .P” from southern Lower Michigan several years ago (yes we were trolls at one time). We owned and operated and operate Clementz’s Northcountry Campground and Cabins just north of Newberry, Michigan until May 2015. We have grown kids and grandkids (who all live downstate). My passion is life and all that Nature has to offer us and trying to photograph it in unique ways. Our intention in life is to see all that Nature has to offer us. We hope that you will be a part of our adventures as we cruise through our lives together. Come back often!

NOW we are finding nice big yellow morel mushrooms!  And they are growing in our yard, in the park...just about anyplace!  We found two that had gone through the mower (don't know how we missed them in the first place) so there was a couple we can't add to the collection.

We have spent over $150 since April 24th in gas for the mowers!  Isn't it ridiculous??!!  We haven't even considered filling our diesel tank up for the loader.  Dan just goes to town and buys 5 gallons every now and then.  At least with that we can get the off road price!

I decided, since Dan has seemed to enjoy coffee since this past winter, that I would treat him to real bean coffee...the kind you bring home and grind.  I've never figured out WHY it costs so much more than the canned coffee; especially since you are doing all of the work.

Dan had actually gotten so he would make coffee once in a while, that is before I went to the beans last week.  He doesn't want to learn how to run that thing...the thing being the grinder.  I think he actually doesn't want to have to CLEAN the grinder.  But anyway, where is it written that the woman shall get up with the sun and make the daily coffee???  In the Bible it even says "HEBREWS!"

It is supposed to frost again tonight, so Dan is covering up his two whole tomato plants.  He made chili this morning before we got busy outside, so that is simmering on the stove for supper.

I've got a few photos to share with you of crazy male cowbirds and their "machoness"...sometimes they look like they should fall on their face when they get all hunched up like they do!

I'm gonna get you!
