About Me

My photo
A long time ago, I was a child. (I started out as Cathy First from Colon, Mi.) For the past several years I’ve been an adult. A lot of things went on between those two stages of life; probably no more or no less than anyone elses. My husband and I moved to “da U .P” from southern Lower Michigan several years ago (yes we were trolls at one time). We owned and operated and operate Clementz’s Northcountry Campground and Cabins just north of Newberry, Michigan until May 2015. We have grown kids and grandkids (who all live downstate). My passion is life and all that Nature has to offer us and trying to photograph it in unique ways. Our intention in life is to see all that Nature has to offer us. We hope that you will be a part of our adventures as we cruise through our lives together. Come back often!

IS WILD BLUE SATELLITE SERVICE BETTER THAN DIAL UP?

Right now, I would have to say the answer to that question is "Just barely".

There is an on-going problem and it isn't just with OUR business.  Our neighbors business is being affected by what ever is up with Wild Blue AND a fried of theirs to the north of us is having the exact same issues.

However, WB tells us ALL that it has to be our router!  Each of us has a router go bad all at the same time???  They tell us that our satellites are aligned properly and pointed where they should be pointed, but we can pay someone $70.00 and come out and check it just to be sure.

Each of us are getting the same error message, the same situations and have all tried the same things...nothing is working and it is getting darn frustrating.

So, if anyone else is having any issues at all, please let us know.

  1. I'd switch providers..that is bullsh*@! We have AT&T and it is pretty good..DSL too so it is fairly rapid. You have 24/7 Tech support to walk you through checking things too if it goes down.

Ours is slower than usual and some sites are loading slow or not at all.
I doubt it's your router but you could try unplugging it for a few minutes and plugging it back in...if you do that, unplug the modem also and plug it back in first. I let mine set about 10 minutes then plug the modem in and then the router.
    Good luck.

  3. If you have AT&T access - they have a bundle package for DSL, TV and phone. We've been using them and are very happy with the service and the price is good.
