About Me

My photo
A long time ago, I was a child. (I started out as Cathy First from Colon, Mi.) For the past several years I’ve been an adult. A lot of things went on between those two stages of life; probably no more or no less than anyone elses. My husband and I moved to “da U .P” from southern Lower Michigan several years ago (yes we were trolls at one time). We owned and operated and operate Clementz’s Northcountry Campground and Cabins just north of Newberry, Michigan until May 2015. We have grown kids and grandkids (who all live downstate). My passion is life and all that Nature has to offer us and trying to photograph it in unique ways. Our intention in life is to see all that Nature has to offer us. We hope that you will be a part of our adventures as we cruise through our lives together. Come back often!

I've had a couple of emails wanting to know if the living oak was actually a kind of oak or if I was being "funny" due to the fact that someone is trying (or has successfully) "murdered" the oaks in the previous story.

So, I went in search of a photo to share with you so you could see how majestic these trees are.  Dan and I had first seen them when in worked in N. Carolina last  year.  We didn't know they existed either.

Aren't they wonderful?

  1. I am in awe of them, and always will be...first saw them in person a few years ago when we went to Savannah...when we went down this year I took a TON of pictures of them again...I could spend a month in Savannah photographing them, and someday I will! I will be posting them to my blog within a few weeks, so stay tuned.

  2. They are just amazing, aren't they? How horrible that person is to have destroyed those trees! The live oaks just look so inviting to be climbed! Can't wait to see your shots!
