About Me

My photo
A long time ago, I was a child. (I started out as Cathy First from Colon, Mi.) For the past several years I’ve been an adult. A lot of things went on between those two stages of life; probably no more or no less than anyone elses. My husband and I moved to “da U .P” from southern Lower Michigan several years ago (yes we were trolls at one time). We owned and operated and operate Clementz’s Northcountry Campground and Cabins just north of Newberry, Michigan until May 2015. We have grown kids and grandkids (who all live downstate). My passion is life and all that Nature has to offer us and trying to photograph it in unique ways. Our intention in life is to see all that Nature has to offer us. We hope that you will be a part of our adventures as we cruise through our lives together. Come back often!

I DREAD TOMORROW

Its bad enough that tomorrow will be laundry day. I think this is one of the biggest things I miss through the winter; having my own washer and dryer. Neither one of us enjoys going to the laundromat.

But to top it off, it is time to strip the flannel sheets off the bed and get them in the laundry. And as long as we are doing that, we figure we might as well take the thick foam topper and the two thick mattress pads (one is heated) off so we can flip the mattress over.

As many of you know, you don't have a LOT of room in a 5th wheel bedroom to complete these chores. At least our new 5th wheel is big enough that we can stand up in the bedroom without feeling like the Hunch Back...but it is still crowded by the time you get everything off the bed and onto the floor in order to flip the mattress.

The bottom flannel sheet is a very heavy flannel and has elastic all the way around...which will take forever to dry. Then come back and put it all together again...sigh.

We broke down and purchased some dry cat food for Miss Kitty. Her limp seems to be better so maybe feeding her will help her heal and she can get back to being a huntress.

We put the kitty food outside yesterday afternoon when it was about time for her to show up. But the turkeys showed up instead and ate her food!

So, I put more out again mid morning today. And those darn birds were back again and were in the bowl of food. They even started arguing over it. As ornery as they were with each other, I didn't think I should go try to chase them off. I took some photos and then yelled at them to go away and they could have cared less. But they did finally leave.

Miss Kitty did finally show up. I saw her out in the woods so I took more food out, which she came down and ate.

NOW we have to be careful where we step outside. There isn't anything pretty about turkey poop! Especially tracked inside!

  2. We could Not move around all sides of our bed in the RV, an old one, so instead of changing the sheets, we sold the camper.LOL. Kidding about the sheets but we Did sell the camper.
As for those pesky turkeys, they have ravenous appetites and are just piggies. As long as they know there is food, they will be back. Good luck with that. Glad Kitty got her meal.

  4. Retired One, Dan was sizing up the biggest tom to see if he'd fit in the grill! We'd probably have to resort to using the trash can!Merry Christmas to you and Paul too!

Dar, that IS reason enough to sell! We sure like this 5th wheel a LOT better than the first one we had. Happy Holidays to you and yours!

Dave, I wondered if anyone would get that!
