About Me

My photo
A long time ago, I was a child. (I started out as Cathy First from Colon, Mi.) For the past several years I’ve been an adult. A lot of things went on between those two stages of life; probably no more or no less than anyone elses. My husband and I moved to “da U .P” from southern Lower Michigan several years ago (yes we were trolls at one time). We owned and operated and operate Clementz’s Northcountry Campground and Cabins just north of Newberry, Michigan until May 2015. We have grown kids and grandkids (who all live downstate). My passion is life and all that Nature has to offer us and trying to photograph it in unique ways. Our intention in life is to see all that Nature has to offer us. We hope that you will be a part of our adventures as we cruise through our lives together. Come back often!

There are several plants around our campsite patio. Some of them are herbs and others are just little flowers. But we don't have a clue what this is.

It is growing inside a wire cage, like you'd put around a tomato plant. It just flowered about 3 days ago. There are still buds that haven't opened.

Dan took these photos this a.m. in hopes maybe someone might be able to tell us what this is?? It is quite stalky at the bottom.

  1. Looks like you have some kind of a small dahlia or definitely from the daisy family...either way, Dan did a good job catching those dew drops...
One of my sisters will figure it out for ya...Mel or Cher...they seem to have the green thumbs lately.

  2. Dar, I thought it looked like a daisy too but I'd never seen one that had to be supported by a cage. Overall it is about 4' tall.

I'll tell Dan what you said; he's trying to learn to use my camera because I'M getting a new one!!

  3. I thought it looked like it was from the chysanthemum family?

  4. First to answer your comment left about Alaska - YUP I lived there and miss it so much it leaves a bruise on my heart. BUT we love being closer to family and friends. NO I don't have a seperate blog hiding, hell I can't even get people to read the one I have now. :( but I treasure the ones that do. I will share more adventures from there though so stay tuned. lol Love your blog and can't wait to meet you next summer. :)
