About Me

My photo
A long time ago, I was a child. (I started out as Cathy First from Colon, Mi.) For the past several years I’ve been an adult. A lot of things went on between those two stages of life; probably no more or no less than anyone elses. My husband and I moved to “da U .P” from southern Lower Michigan several years ago (yes we were trolls at one time). We owned and operated and operate Clementz’s Northcountry Campground and Cabins just north of Newberry, Michigan until May 2015. We have grown kids and grandkids (who all live downstate). My passion is life and all that Nature has to offer us and trying to photograph it in unique ways. Our intention in life is to see all that Nature has to offer us. We hope that you will be a part of our adventures as we cruise through our lives together. Come back often!

PEA ISLAND NWR VISITORS!

Remember last fall/winter when Dan and I had the opportunity of a life time and "worked" at Pea Island and Alligator River NWR's???  I know I told you that we met a lot of wonderful people while there, and not just people that work there, but people who came to visit the area.

Today, a family that we met while working at the Visitor Center on Pea Island decided to come and stay at our park for the next 3 nights!!  We are so honored that they remembered us!  So far they seem to be having a great time on their vacation to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan!  Our area doesn't compare with anything we saw or did while on Pea Island, but hopefully they will make some good Michigan memories!!

Did you hear that there is a COLD FRONT HEADED OUR WAY!!???  It isn't supposed to arrive until Saturday...what's a few more days of THIS HEAT, right??  When the cold front arrives, according to the Weather Wizards the "temps will have a hard time reaching 80 degrees!"  Now THAT is MY kind of cold front!!!

Take care and keep cool!!!
