About Me

My photo
A long time ago, I was a child. (I started out as Cathy First from Colon, Mi.) For the past several years I’ve been an adult. A lot of things went on between those two stages of life; probably no more or no less than anyone elses. My husband and I moved to “da U .P” from southern Lower Michigan several years ago (yes we were trolls at one time). We owned and operated and operate Clementz’s Northcountry Campground and Cabins just north of Newberry, Michigan until May 2015. We have grown kids and grandkids (who all live downstate). My passion is life and all that Nature has to offer us and trying to photograph it in unique ways. Our intention in life is to see all that Nature has to offer us. We hope that you will be a part of our adventures as we cruise through our lives together. Come back often!

I am still alive and not quite kicking yet!

My ear is still plugged up so that drives me crazy but I took my last pill two days ago so the side effects are slowly wearing off.

The really GOOD news is my daughter and her significant other (is it politically correct to use that term yet or is there a different one??) made it up yesterday and hope to be here till Wednesday.  They are hopefully out on the Tahquamenon River by now, each in a rented kayak.  My daughter has a very rare medical condition which makes her life miserable so anytime she gets to have a little fun is a good day.  We all hope she doesn't over do it which will make her feel much worse and would mean they would probably have to shorten their stay.  This is the first real vacation she has had in YEARS.  So, it means a lot to all of us that she has a wonderful time.

So, other than that, there really isn't anything new to report to you.  I truly do miss TRYING to be creative and write interesting/fun things for you to read and hopefully I will be back to that soon!!

Thanks for sticking with me!  AND for all your well wishes.

  1. I am so happy for you to have your daughter home with you...it always makes us happy when our kids come home too, no matter how brief the stay. I hope she feels ok too...my fibro has been really painful the last week, I think it is due to the barometric pressure changes and humidity.
Hope you get better soon too!

  2. Retired One, it is wonderful to have her here and she did have a great time on the river yesterday (except for the sun burned ears!). My sister has fibro and I truly don't know how she (or anyone else) manages. I've never asked her if the weather affects how she does but it would make sense that it would. Take care!
