We are slowly making the rounds to visit family and friends.
It is difficult to catch up with everyone and spend equal time with each person/family. We just have our oldest son and his family (which the grandkids probably won't even be around), our youngest son and his family (which grandkids are supposed to be around), my best friend Annne and her hubby Mike (no kids, just pets) and I THINK that about covers it.
A couple of nights ago, the weather was very bad in this area. In fact there were 72 mph winds. In Schoolcraft, at an RV dealership, several RV's were destroyed due to the winds. We were without power for about 3 hours (no big deal; slept through that part!). Where we are staying between Mendon and Three Rivers (in our 5th wheel), was about on the outskirts of the worst of the storm, but we DID beat foot it over to my sister's house for about 45 minutes during the middle of the night. That man on the NOAA weather radio told us to seek shelter immediately, danger was eminent.
And there is a possibility of severe weather today...let me think....didn't we drive like crazy to keep ahead of the storms??? And then we get here and have this. Oh, well, this IS Michigan! And these April showers will bring MUSHROOMS!!! And of course, mosquitoes.
- Cathy Clementz
- A long time ago, I was a child. (I started out as Cathy First from Colon, Mi.) For the past several years I’ve been an adult. A lot of things went on between those two stages of life; probably no more or no less than anyone elses. My husband and I moved to “da U .P” from southern Lower Michigan several years ago (yes we were trolls at one time). We owned and operated and operate Clementz’s Northcountry Campground and Cabins just north of Newberry, Michigan until May 2015. We have grown kids and grandkids (who all live downstate). My passion is life and all that Nature has to offer us and trying to photograph it in unique ways. Our intention in life is to see all that Nature has to offer us. We hope that you will be a part of our adventures as we cruise through our lives together. Come back often!
