About Me

My photo
A long time ago, I was a child. (I started out as Cathy First from Colon, Mi.) For the past several years I’ve been an adult. A lot of things went on between those two stages of life; probably no more or no less than anyone elses. My husband and I moved to “da U .P” from southern Lower Michigan several years ago (yes we were trolls at one time). We owned and operated and operate Clementz’s Northcountry Campground and Cabins just north of Newberry, Michigan until May 2015. We have grown kids and grandkids (who all live downstate). My passion is life and all that Nature has to offer us and trying to photograph it in unique ways. Our intention in life is to see all that Nature has to offer us. We hope that you will be a part of our adventures as we cruise through our lives together. Come back often!

Does anyone else find this sign amusing?

Can you imagine the thighs on the kids who are able to actually teeter totter at 15 mph?

Do they get fined if they go OVER this rate of tottering? Or get spanked if they can't get to this rate of tottering?

And what about the kid on the UPswing?? Wouldn't tottering at 15 mph be kind of like being on the upswing of a catapult??

And the kid on the downside; hope he or she keeps his or her tongue out from between their teeth!

This high speed tottering should burn off some of the calories that we are all concerned about our school kids consuming.

(We stopped at a very nice rest area on our way down to San Antonio and this was one of the signs. There is a nice playground AND a storm shelter at this rest area. I could not resist!!)

  2. They teetered so hard at 15 mph they have NO FEET! LOL

  3. TRACTOR GUY, ha!! It was all I could do to walk clear back where the sign was and take a photo!
