About Me

My photo
A long time ago, I was a child. (I started out as Cathy First from Colon, Mi.) For the past several years I’ve been an adult. A lot of things went on between those two stages of life; probably no more or no less than anyone elses. My husband and I moved to “da U .P” from southern Lower Michigan several years ago (yes we were trolls at one time). We owned and operated and operate Clementz’s Northcountry Campground and Cabins just north of Newberry, Michigan until May 2015. We have grown kids and grandkids (who all live downstate). My passion is life and all that Nature has to offer us and trying to photograph it in unique ways. Our intention in life is to see all that Nature has to offer us. We hope that you will be a part of our adventures as we cruise through our lives together. Come back often!

  3. Thanks to both of you. To me they look a bit blurry but this bird flies VERY fast!!! I could hardly keep him in my viewfinder!

  5. Hi Cathy,

I have a rare week off...so I am enjoying catching up on your adventures. Sounds like you are experiencing and seeing quite a bit. Still no snow UP north,so you're not missing anything yet...but I bet you might have a fleeting tinge of nostalgia at some point!

The flying hunter you captured is a Northern Harrier, female. It was also known as a Hen Harrier and Marsh Hawk some time ago.

Be well and have a great Thanksgiving...and Hi to Dan.

ES, Thanks for still keeping up with us and what we're doing and a special thanks for identifying the bird! We weren't sure what it was. More on that subject later!! Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours too!!
