About Me

My photo
A long time ago, I was a child. (I started out as Cathy First from Colon, Mi.) For the past several years I’ve been an adult. A lot of things went on between those two stages of life; probably no more or no less than anyone elses. My husband and I moved to “da U .P” from southern Lower Michigan several years ago (yes we were trolls at one time). We owned and operated and operate Clementz’s Northcountry Campground and Cabins just north of Newberry, Michigan until May 2015. We have grown kids and grandkids (who all live downstate). My passion is life and all that Nature has to offer us and trying to photograph it in unique ways. Our intention in life is to see all that Nature has to offer us. We hope that you will be a part of our adventures as we cruise through our lives together. Come back often!

The Outer Banks wildlife

Dan and I are a bit on the tired side, but a good kind of tired. It has nothing to do with the lighthouse, but rather what we've been doing for the past couple of days which I hope to be able to post about soon. I've been waking up about 3:30 a.m. and having a hard time staying in bed till 5 a.m....so I am tired. My eyes are more tired than anything.

The name of this lighthouse is pronounced Body. I thought it was a long O sound but it isn't.

More later!!

  1. As you know, I am smitten with all lighthouses...
this one is FANTASTIC. Gosh, I love the black and white stripes on it.

And it sits on all that flat land...
    love this shot!

  2. Hope you're doing well! Love that lighthouse photo!

  3. Love the lighthouse shot.

Hope you are able to get some more sleep soon.

  4. I love the lighthouse. Question: Do you give tours? Do you have a set season? I'm so inquisitive I just want to see what it's all about ~ Inside and out. You're living our dream. We moved to the U.P. in 2005 ~ Still a lot to see.

  5. Retired One...I love lighthouses too. Sometime, if we get together again, Dan will have to tell you about the one I "made" him drive to in Nova Scotia. What a "road" that was!!

Shelley, good to hear from ya! We're doing great!!! Having a wonderful time.

Ashley, ME TOO!!! I hate this bed!!

Cher, I'm not sure if you are asking about tours of the U.P. or tours where we are working this winter...either way, it is a no. Please feel free to email me should you have any questions that I might be able to answer. I'm not online a lot due to the nature of where we are at.
