About Me

My photo
A long time ago, I was a child. (I started out as Cathy First from Colon, Mi.) For the past several years I’ve been an adult. A lot of things went on between those two stages of life; probably no more or no less than anyone elses. My husband and I moved to “da U .P” from southern Lower Michigan several years ago (yes we were trolls at one time). We owned and operated and operate Clementz’s Northcountry Campground and Cabins just north of Newberry, Michigan until May 2015. We have grown kids and grandkids (who all live downstate). My passion is life and all that Nature has to offer us and trying to photograph it in unique ways. Our intention in life is to see all that Nature has to offer us. We hope that you will be a part of our adventures as we cruise through our lives together. Come back often!

This will be short, but just to let you know we arrived at our "new home" about 4 p.m. yesterday. We have the place to ourselves, well, except for various birds, deer, bear and wolves...of which we have seen none of the latter two! However, our campsite is surrounded by a strand of electric fence for "our protection" against bears in the night (or any other time of day I supposed!!).

I'm currently at a Welcome Center using a very low signal wifi so I'm also trying to download email messages while typing this. I won't be able to respond to comments so please don't be offended if I don't. And I won't be checking blogs until I can come up with a better "arrangement".

It is wonderful!!! Our campsite isn't anything special, right out in the HOT SUN at about 76 yesterday. It got cool during the night but it has warmed right back up.

So that is all for now and I'll be back when I can!! Please stick with me!!

  1. So glad you have made it! I was waiting for this post! :) Enjoy your time there. Bears....oh my! :)

  2. I have been checking your blog site to see when you would post your arrival. So glad you made it there without event.
76 degrees??? Wow! You will have the summer there that we never got here this year.
Hope your connection for your computer can be arranged soon so we can see pictures of your new place!
Keep blogging about what you do each day, I will find it so interesting!!

  3. I've been thinking about you and checking in looking for posts. Sounds interesting. Can't wait to read more.

  4. to everyone who posted a comment; thanks for keeping up with us!!! our connection at the "cabin" doesn't seem to work so we have to drive about 10 miles one way so I can get online!! It was 86 degrees yesterday and expected to cool off into the 60s by tomorrow!!
