About Me

My photo
A long time ago, I was a child. (I started out as Cathy First from Colon, Mi.) For the past several years I’ve been an adult. A lot of things went on between those two stages of life; probably no more or no less than anyone elses. My husband and I moved to “da U .P” from southern Lower Michigan several years ago (yes we were trolls at one time). We owned and operated and operate Clementz’s Northcountry Campground and Cabins just north of Newberry, Michigan until May 2015. We have grown kids and grandkids (who all live downstate). My passion is life and all that Nature has to offer us and trying to photograph it in unique ways. Our intention in life is to see all that Nature has to offer us. We hope that you will be a part of our adventures as we cruise through our lives together. Come back often!

A SPECIAL VISIT

Dan and I just had the opportunity to spend time with another "fellow blogger" and her wonderful family. I'm talking about DVM's Wife's Life (you can find her blog in the blog list in the right hand margin).

Amy and Tim, the two kids and the two dogs were on their way to their camp north of here and managed to schedule a visit with Dan and me.

If you follow her blog, you know the challenges they have faced and are facing and after meeting them and talking with them, hearing their views on how things are going, you just get such a warm feeling in your heart and soul about this family. They have faced this cancer head on, are dealing with it and they WILL get through it. I'm not going to say anything beyond that because that is for Amy to share with you if and when the time is right. And I'm not implying that I have been made privy to some secret; I have not. It just is for her to share anything else about this with you.

Before the C word became a part of their lives, I followed DVM's Wife's Life blog; she is a very talented writer and an awesome photographer. So Amy allowing us all to share in what they are going through, while still finding a way to tell the story and find some humor, well, to me, that is just brave. They ARE a brave family and Dan and I are fortunate to have met them. I hope to keep them in our lives, even from a distance.

  1. It's only when you go out, meet up with the world and the people outside your private boundaries that you truly see the larger picture of life.

And thanks for introducing this amazing lady to me. I sure would pay her blog a visit.

  4. Ekanthapadhikan, you are so right. Some people inspire you to do better with your own live(s).

Retired One, No, they didn't stay long because everyone was anxious to get up to their camp but we did have a nice visit and hugs all the way around.

Joanna, Next time you go to Ohio, you'll have to come by way of OUR neck of 'da woods'!!
