About Me

My photo
A long time ago, I was a child. (I started out as Cathy First from Colon, Mi.) For the past several years I’ve been an adult. A lot of things went on between those two stages of life; probably no more or no less than anyone elses. My husband and I moved to “da U .P” from southern Lower Michigan several years ago (yes we were trolls at one time). We owned and operated and operate Clementz’s Northcountry Campground and Cabins just north of Newberry, Michigan until May 2015. We have grown kids and grandkids (who all live downstate). My passion is life and all that Nature has to offer us and trying to photograph it in unique ways. Our intention in life is to see all that Nature has to offer us. We hope that you will be a part of our adventures as we cruise through our lives together. Come back often!

A FEW OF MY FAVORITE THINGS

It won't be long and the U.P. will be blessed with scenes like these. Both photos were taken at the Mouth of the Two Hearted a couple of Octobers ago. The top photos shows the swinging bridge going across the river to Lake Superior and the bottom one is Dan on the bridge. The swinging bridge is supposed to resemble a very small Mackinac Bridge. I'm getting anxious for the smells, sounds and colors of autumn!!!

I do love the colors of our autumn and even the smells, but there is always that feeling of dread for the cold, cold weather and snow ahead...

Like Retired One said, you are leaving and won't have to deal with what comes after those gorgeous fall colors.
I do hope we get to meet before you leave the U.P.!
We hope to get up to our camp soon!

  4. Ashley, I don't know what it is about the smells and even the color of the sky and the brightness of the stars at night...but autumn is special.

Retired One...counting the days!! It IS almost September and then soon it'll be October!!

DVM's Wife...my best friend, Anne-Marie and her hubby went up there with us that day. We had a hard time talking her into crossing the bridge. Of course, Dan and I had to kind of bouncy walk across it. You'd have thought she was waiting for Indiana Jones to sweep in!!
