About Me

My photo
A long time ago, I was a child. (I started out as Cathy First from Colon, Mi.) For the past several years I’ve been an adult. A lot of things went on between those two stages of life; probably no more or no less than anyone elses. My husband and I moved to “da U .P” from southern Lower Michigan several years ago (yes we were trolls at one time). We owned and operated and operate Clementz’s Northcountry Campground and Cabins just north of Newberry, Michigan until May 2015. We have grown kids and grandkids (who all live downstate). My passion is life and all that Nature has to offer us and trying to photograph it in unique ways. Our intention in life is to see all that Nature has to offer us. We hope that you will be a part of our adventures as we cruise through our lives together. Come back often!

I'M STILL DOING THE MATH!!!

Yooper Yarns hit 176,000 visitors (NOT HITS, but visits) this morning. I have my counter set so anytime I am on Yarns that I am not counted, so I know it is not all me...but you still are not signing up as followers!!! Come on!!! This is a status thing!!!

I've got a story that I'm still debating on whether to share with you or not. I've got it written up but the whole phone conversation was so strange that I don't know if it was for real or if someone was hoping I WOULD publish it on Yarns or if it was just someone who really was serious. So, the jury is still out on that one.

Dan made it home last night and we are BOTH glad he is here!!! Me because I am a worry wart and he because he IS a home body...home, for us, is where the other one happens to be (if that makes sense!). He has to go back again next week to see the Drs and go before some kind of VA board to find out what they feel they can/can't/won't/will do.

About 2 a.m. the coyotes started yipping. It was a very clear, chilly night so the sound traveled well. Then from about 2:30 to 3:30 it sounded like a pup crying and "barking" out in the woods. It was a sad, mournful sound. Dan and I both wondered if a pup DID get separated from the pack and they didn't come back for him. About 30 minutes later there was some darn beagle going on and on and then you'd hear the pup (again all of this sounded like it was coming from our woods...at least it wasn't in the campground so hopefully campers weren't disturbed). By the time it was quiet and I was able to go back to sleep, it was time to get up and check the bathhouse! SHORT DARN NIGHT! Dan is still sleeping so I'm trying to be extra quiet!

Catch up with ya later!!

  1. What an interesting life you have, with all the animals howling and all. Wonderful.

  2. Anne H, I don't mind the coyotes yipping but a barking dog irritates the bajeebers out of me. :-)
