About Me

My photo
A long time ago, I was a child. (I started out as Cathy First from Colon, Mi.) For the past several years I’ve been an adult. A lot of things went on between those two stages of life; probably no more or no less than anyone elses. My husband and I moved to “da U .P” from southern Lower Michigan several years ago (yes we were trolls at one time). We owned and operated and operate Clementz’s Northcountry Campground and Cabins just north of Newberry, Michigan until May 2015. We have grown kids and grandkids (who all live downstate). My passion is life and all that Nature has to offer us and trying to photograph it in unique ways. Our intention in life is to see all that Nature has to offer us. We hope that you will be a part of our adventures as we cruise through our lives together. Come back often!

There was a tornado watch for parts of N.E. Luce County last night. Terrible winds, damaging hail and all that goes with it apparantly hit about 23 miles north of us last night. The Weather Channel was giving constant updates (at the bottom of the TV screen) telling us how long before it was at Pike lake, Betsy lake, Crisp Point, etc.

Fortunately, it doesn't sound like there was any damage, but there were some very interesting cloud formations in our area.

  1. Wow.
    That is crazy.
Here, last night it was quiet and still. No wind.
    Earlier it was VERY windy.
Today is cooler with partly sunny skies and barely hitting 70.
But hey, it is better than 40's and 50's which we were having there for a while!
And, the wind keeps the bugs away.

  2. Yikes, that's scary.
LOVE the photo layout! How'd you do that???

  3. Joanna, yep, it was scary. I keep reflecting back to a couple of years ago when we had all that tree damage in our park and woods.

How did I do that??? ANCIENT CHINESE SECRET!! Do you remember THAT commercial?? Anyway, all you need is Google's Picassa. Just download it and you are good to go!

    Any damage?
I checked the Soo paper nothing reported on the website?

  5. Anonymous, I think TWC made it sound worse than what it was. They were even saying it was a highly volitile and dangerous situation and people in mobile homes or campers needed to find OTHER safer shelter.
