About Me

My photo
A long time ago, I was a child. (I started out as Cathy First from Colon, Mi.) For the past several years I’ve been an adult. A lot of things went on between those two stages of life; probably no more or no less than anyone elses. My husband and I moved to “da U .P” from southern Lower Michigan several years ago (yes we were trolls at one time). We owned and operated and operate Clementz’s Northcountry Campground and Cabins just north of Newberry, Michigan until May 2015. We have grown kids and grandkids (who all live downstate). My passion is life and all that Nature has to offer us and trying to photograph it in unique ways. Our intention in life is to see all that Nature has to offer us. We hope that you will be a part of our adventures as we cruise through our lives together. Come back often!

I think this will be the last of the 3 posts for today.

I told Ernesto that I was NOT going to post MY hummer photo because I KNOW it is not good (taken through the storm door about 9 p.m. the other night). BUT I couldn't help myself because this little guy looks cross eyed to me!!

We're supposed to warm up a bit today so maybe there will finally be some decent opportunities to get some photos!!

  1. That pic was taken through a screen door! WOW, it's fabulous. Thanks for sharing!

  2. It was taken through the glass part of the storm door. The screen was at the bottom of the door so didn't have to shoot through screen, just a window that could stand to be washed again!!

  3. You can still see his pretty colors! Not a bad shot thru the door I say!

  4. Shellmo, thanks. It is so easy to get shots of them at their feeders, but I want shots of them "in the wild". Now that the weather seems to be on the mend, hopefully the other birds will start using the bird bath and I can be outside more! :-)

  5. Gosh, when I first looked at the photo, I thought it was a rose breasted grossbeak....but then I see how tiny it is...
I love how he is perched on the weed...perfect shot! I loved this one, you should be PROUD...it is like a professional shot, silly girl!

  6. Retired One, you are way too kind! But thank you. Your yard/flower shots today are excellent. I've got to find out, even if it means you need to make a trip over here,HOW you get your margins and photos set up that way on your blog! I know you tried to explain it to me once, but it didn't work for me....
