About Me

My photo
A long time ago, I was a child. (I started out as Cathy First from Colon, Mi.) For the past several years I’ve been an adult. A lot of things went on between those two stages of life; probably no more or no less than anyone elses. My husband and I moved to “da U .P” from southern Lower Michigan several years ago (yes we were trolls at one time). We owned and operated and operate Clementz’s Northcountry Campground and Cabins just north of Newberry, Michigan until May 2015. We have grown kids and grandkids (who all live downstate). My passion is life and all that Nature has to offer us and trying to photograph it in unique ways. Our intention in life is to see all that Nature has to offer us. We hope that you will be a part of our adventures as we cruise through our lives together. Come back often!

TAKE NO PRISONERS

MY THOUGHTS ON GITMO;

First of all, this "movement" that is underway to house some of those terrorist prisoners in Michigan prisons so Michigan can get some federal funds...well, that is plain scary. Are we that hard up??

What I think they should do to the wanna be suicide bombers is give them transport out of the U.S. in a HUGE, old plane. There should be a Rendezvous point over the middle of the ocean where the pilots would bail out of the plane and then the pilots would be rescued at sea by the U.S. Coast Guard. Since there is a strong possibility that some of the Gitmo detainees know how to fly, the plane would have only been loaded with enough fuel to get a bit beyond the drop point...just enough fuel to give the new GITMO pilots a false sense of security. Wasn't it their goal in the first place to fly a jet or plane and accomplish a suicide mission?

Problem solved...sorry if I offended anyone....

  1. As long as they stay locked up! I have a feeling their Karma in life will involve planes....and nothing nice.....

  2. Shellmo; the world is not a nice place anymore, is it? "They" want to let them out and put them on welfare. Maybe these detainees can follow the Wisconsin GM plant as it moves to Mexico and get jobs there....

  3. I think they should be sent over the Taquamenon Falls, without a barrel, then left to be taken by your upcoming mosquito hatch.
    Just a thought.......

    LOL...I like ALL of these ideas. If Mr. Engler wants them, then drop them off at his house....still in chains, of course. Or better yet, let the little desert dwellers off in a rubber boat out in Lake Superior in mid-January !!!

  5. DVM's Wife, now THAT IS a thought!! Suppose they've ever dealt with the likes of Tahqua River mosquitoes??!!

    GARY, After they deal with the bugs in the spring, then put them in that little "winter house boat"!!

  6. Cathy,
    Your mosquitoes are the number one reason why I do not visit our camp during spring/summer months. They can be deadly back by our camp!

  7. DVM, We have been fortunate the past several summers with "lack" of mosquitoes. At least HERE in the open, but once ya get to the woods it is a totally different story!
