About Me

My photo
A long time ago, I was a child. (I started out as Cathy First from Colon, Mi.) For the past several years I’ve been an adult. A lot of things went on between those two stages of life; probably no more or no less than anyone elses. My husband and I moved to “da U .P” from southern Lower Michigan several years ago (yes we were trolls at one time). We owned and operated and operate Clementz’s Northcountry Campground and Cabins just north of Newberry, Michigan until May 2015. We have grown kids and grandkids (who all live downstate). My passion is life and all that Nature has to offer us and trying to photograph it in unique ways. Our intention in life is to see all that Nature has to offer us. We hope that you will be a part of our adventures as we cruise through our lives together. Come back often!

THE ANSWER IS BLOWING IN THE WIND

We have one of those flashing yellow signs; ya know the one you can put messages on with big plastic black letters???

THIS IS WHAT IT IS SUPPOSED TO SAY;

CAMPING LODGING

BIG RIGS TO TENTS

WIFI, CATV, FULL HK UPS

FIREWOOD ICE

THIS is what it says after two days of strong wind;

PING GING

BI GS TO TE T

WIF, CAT , FU K UPS

FIRE D, I

I'm especially concerned about the last set of letters on the 3rd line...read it quickly. What does it SCREAM at you??? I think I better go remove a couple of letters until the wind dies down. Hopefully we can find the other letters between here and town!

  1. OMG, did I laugh when I read this!
    I think I would HAVE to pull into your campground if I read that just to meet the nuts who owned it and have a great laugh!
    We have a LOT of wind here too. My husband went to cast off his fishing line off the dock a little while ago and said he nearly got blown off.
    And the 70 degree promise? Pheesh!It is only in the 60's and the wind is cold...but I will take it after the last few days of weather. And, it is sunny.
    Thanks for giving me laughs today!

  2. Thank you for the giggle :)

    How is the weather up by your way. Hope you didn't get too much snow. Where did that warmer weather go? Brr....

  3. Retired One and Ashley, I'm afraid to look at the other side of the sign. Possibly there are NO letters left on the north side. I did go take down some of these letters though!

    Ash, not much snow but near white out conditions as times! Well, it SEEMED LIKE IT! It for sure was snowing sideways.

  4. Oh goodness. This is so funny! Love it! Thanks for the laugh.
    BTW, I am so sick of this wind too! I have windburn on my face. I would rather have a sunburn, because then I would at least look tan after the fact.

  5. DVM's wife...at least the other side of the sign wasn't missing as many letters; it looked like a text message.

    The wind yesterday kept the black flies away. We did start out with Off on in the a.m. so bring yours when you come up!

  7. Shellmo, I took the remaining FUKUPS down as soon as I wrote the post! The other side looks like a text message so I'm not gonna worry about the north side.
