About Me

My photo
A long time ago, I was a child. (I started out as Cathy First from Colon, Mi.) For the past several years I’ve been an adult. A lot of things went on between those two stages of life; probably no more or no less than anyone elses. My husband and I moved to “da U .P” from southern Lower Michigan several years ago (yes we were trolls at one time). We owned and operated and operate Clementz’s Northcountry Campground and Cabins just north of Newberry, Michigan until May 2015. We have grown kids and grandkids (who all live downstate). My passion is life and all that Nature has to offer us and trying to photograph it in unique ways. Our intention in life is to see all that Nature has to offer us. We hope that you will be a part of our adventures as we cruise through our lives together. Come back often!

My best friend’s cat, Mariah, loves to play with grocery sacks. She doesn’t care if they are paper or plastic (sounds like she worked at a store at some time). Mariah just loves playing with those bags…or DID love it.

Upon returning from grocery shopping, Anne accidentally dropped a plastic bag on the floor. Mariah immediately sought refuge inside that bag and began batting around inside of it. Anne thinks Mariah enjoyed the rustling sounds of the plastic.

Anne was going about putting her groceries away when without warning, Mariah took off like a squall of blustery weather. The bag was billowed out behind her and was catching the wind from her burst of speed.

It took Anne a second or two to figure out what was going on. Mariah had gotten a hind leg and her tail caught in one of the looped “handles” of that plastic bag and when she couldn’t get out of it, she panicked! Anne couldn’t help Mariah for two reasons; 1. She couldn’t catch her and 2. She was doubled over laughing.

Anne was finally able to “corner” the kitty and managed to get her untangled from her plaything. Mariah no longer likes bags; paper or plastic.

I bet THAT would have been a video worth $10K!

  1. For sure!
The funniest thing that ever happened when we had cats was when my daughter had a chameleon. The cat was always trying to bat the top of the cage open.
Well, we got back from somewhere and my daughter goes into her room and comes out crying that the cat must have gotten at it because the top was askew and it was missing. Pretty soon we see the cat chasing down the hall after it.
We all go running down there to avoid the disaster.
The next thing we knew, here comes the cat, HORROR on its face, because the chameleon had jumped onto its face and clung on. The cat was running around in circles with this critter stuck to its face.
I thought I would pee my pants!
We pried it off of the cat's face and put it back in the cage.
Needless to say, the cat never tried that again!

  2. HILarious!! I had to send this on to Anne. I know she will get a HUGE kick out of it! YOU could have been rich too!
