About Me

My photo
A long time ago, I was a child. (I started out as Cathy First from Colon, Mi.) For the past several years I’ve been an adult. A lot of things went on between those two stages of life; probably no more or no less than anyone elses. My husband and I moved to “da U .P” from southern Lower Michigan several years ago (yes we were trolls at one time). We owned and operated and operate Clementz’s Northcountry Campground and Cabins just north of Newberry, Michigan until May 2015. We have grown kids and grandkids (who all live downstate). My passion is life and all that Nature has to offer us and trying to photograph it in unique ways. Our intention in life is to see all that Nature has to offer us. We hope that you will be a part of our adventures as we cruise through our lives together. Come back often!

goose landing and swimming

They look so clumsy coming in for a landing!

goose landing and swimming

And he was squawking the whole time!

  1. Canada geese abound at our cabin on the St. Marys River and I really don't enjoy them because of their dirty habit of messing up our yard. Early every morning they come up from the river and come right up to the house. They are very quiet in those early morning hours and I usually wake around 5 to see them and chase them back to the river. By the time we get there in the early summer, their goslings are joining in the Benedict breakfast buffet.

  2. I found out in my perennial gardening class that goose poo is excellent fertilizer1 (But I still can't see me collecting it!) ha

    The Retirement Chronicles

  3. SBW, I know geese can be a REAL problem...I'd rather have to watch out for PIG poop!

Retired One...suppose there is a little goose pooper scooper on Ebay??

  4. The geese have started to arrive down by us.

Glad to have you back! I missed your posts. :)

  5. We just saw two tree swallows this a.m. They are already scoping out bird boxes!

It is good to be back! Thanks!
