About Me

My photo
A long time ago, I was a child. (I started out as Cathy First from Colon, Mi.) For the past several years I’ve been an adult. A lot of things went on between those two stages of life; probably no more or no less than anyone elses. My husband and I moved to “da U .P” from southern Lower Michigan several years ago (yes we were trolls at one time). We owned and operated and operate Clementz’s Northcountry Campground and Cabins just north of Newberry, Michigan until May 2015. We have grown kids and grandkids (who all live downstate). My passion is life and all that Nature has to offer us and trying to photograph it in unique ways. Our intention in life is to see all that Nature has to offer us. We hope that you will be a part of our adventures as we cruise through our lives together. Come back often!

One reason we purchased the lap top was to take it with us next winter. I know I'll be taking a lot of digital photos and figured I'd just make a DVD to send to family and friends vs getting photos made (My mom does not have a computer so can't email her shots anyway).

So this morning, by way of an experiemnt, I created a DVD via Picasa. It looks beautiful on my computer so then I headed to the TV. I put the DVD in the TV/DVD player and a screen came up basically telling me it didn't recognize the format.

DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEAS??? I've done searches but can't come up with an answer. I am using DVD-RW's.

If it's an older DVD player connected to your TV it may not be able to read DVD-RWs. You will most likely need to use DVR-Rs.

  2. Michael, thank you so much for your response! I have been searching for answers for about an hour and just before your response popped up, I finally found "sort of" an answer which was basically what you wrote. I also found out in my search that on Vista I have Cyberlink DVD Suite...I don't know if that will help me at all or not but something to look into!

  3. Michael, something else and I don'tknow if this matters; our DVD player IS part of our TV and it also accepts MP3s. The TV combo is about 3 or 4 years old. Maybe I need to find the "book" that came with the tv. But I AM going to purchase some DVD -Rs.
