The phone rang about 7:30 a.m. today and since we don't open the office till 8 a.m. I was just going to let the answering machine pick up (plus we are closed till May 10th).
A woman's voice started to leave a message; she was calling to thank me for all the years of reporting trail conditions. I picked up the phone so I could talk with her.
We had a very nice conversation and she totally made me feel honored by calling and expressing her thanks. She told me that "I" (the trail report) had been their home page since they started snowmobiling in 2001. She also told me how much she looked forward to my Zen Thought for the Day and wondered if I was going to start posting that on my Yarns site. I told her she was the 2nd person who had asked me that, and that I was running out of Zen's. Every August and September I would start stalking the Net trying to find new ones. Some of my Zen Zingers actually came from things Dan would say (the language might have been changed to make it PG friendly!).
Since I prefer humorous Zen's vs the ones that make you scratch your head, they are a little harder to come by without using the same one's over and over, so I don't know if I will do that or not. What I MIGHT do is find a "gadget" that I can attach to Yarns that gives a thought for the day, every day and hope they are funny ones instead of head scratchers. Or if Dan says something I can use I will post that. Neither one of us are having many startling thoughts these days except those related to getting rid of this damn snow!
We'll be leaving for Iron Mountain sometime later this afternoon and won't be back till Friday afternoon (as far as we know anyway) so if ya post something and I don't respond, you know why!
Catch ya later!

- A long time ago, I was a child. (I started out as Cathy First from Colon, Mi.) For the past several years I’ve been an adult. A lot of things went on between those two stages of life; probably no more or no less than anyone elses. My husband and I moved to “da U .P” from southern Lower Michigan several years ago (yes we were trolls at one time). We owned and operated and operate Clementz’s Northcountry Campground and Cabins just north of Newberry, Michigan until May 2015. We have grown kids and grandkids (who all live downstate). My passion is life and all that Nature has to offer us and trying to photograph it in unique ways. Our intention in life is to see all that Nature has to offer us. We hope that you will be a part of our adventures as we cruise through our lives together. Come back often!
