About Me

My photo
A long time ago, I was a child. (I started out as Cathy First from Colon, Mi.) For the past several years I’ve been an adult. A lot of things went on between those two stages of life; probably no more or no less than anyone elses. My husband and I moved to “da U .P” from southern Lower Michigan several years ago (yes we were trolls at one time). We owned and operated and operate Clementz’s Northcountry Campground and Cabins just north of Newberry, Michigan until May 2015. We have grown kids and grandkids (who all live downstate). My passion is life and all that Nature has to offer us and trying to photograph it in unique ways. Our intention in life is to see all that Nature has to offer us. We hope that you will be a part of our adventures as we cruise through our lives together. Come back often!

SPRING IS IN THE AIR!

THE GRAY SQUIRRELS ARE ENJOYING THE LEFT OVER WINTER BIRD FEED. IF YOU NOTICE, THE ONE ON THE GREEN FEEDER IS ON A SQUIRREL PROOF FEEDER....HMMMM. SEVERAL TIMES HE SLID DOWN THAT POLE BEFORE MANAGING TO STAY PUT FOR A WHILE.

Yep, I'm still taking shots through the window. I stepped out on the porch for a while, waiting for the perfect shot, and got itchy feet! Darn hives just don't quit!

  1. I love the one of the squirrel climbing the bird feeding, they are sneaky little creatures. Glad to hear spring may possibly be in the air.

Brian and I want to come up to the Newberry area and look at some property in the next few months. I will have to check with you how much snow is left when we decide to come. No need to get stuck in the woods. :)

  2. Ashley, Now that the snow has a crust on it, the squirrels are coming out of the woods. Don't mind the gray ones but those darn little red squirrels are a different story!

Feel free to email about snow depths but keep in mind that when snowmobiling is done for this year, I'm not checking emails as often.

  3. I love your squirrel pics! I wish had some around here. We just don't have the habitat for them. I just have big barn cats that sit below my feeders.

  4. DVM's wife, I wish we had cats to get those little red squirrels. They can cause all kinds of problems! I've had the gray ones get in the bird bath and drink. They aren't too shy!
