About Me

My photo
A long time ago, I was a child. (I started out as Cathy First from Colon, Mi.) For the past several years I’ve been an adult. A lot of things went on between those two stages of life; probably no more or no less than anyone elses. My husband and I moved to “da U .P” from southern Lower Michigan several years ago (yes we were trolls at one time). We owned and operated and operate Clementz’s Northcountry Campground and Cabins just north of Newberry, Michigan until May 2015. We have grown kids and grandkids (who all live downstate). My passion is life and all that Nature has to offer us and trying to photograph it in unique ways. Our intention in life is to see all that Nature has to offer us. We hope that you will be a part of our adventures as we cruise through our lives together. Come back often!

You may recall I posted some photos of the Manistique lighthouse maybe a month ago (??). The ice is breaking up and coming ashore in big chunks. There is chunky ice as far out in Lake Michigan as you can see. Taken 3/26/09 late afternoon.

  1. Last summer we were there at that same exact spot...you will have to look at my blog's slideshow and wait for the photo to pop up..it is the one with the sunsets on it...
It sure looks different in the cold and snow.
That is one good thing about our four seasons up here....plenty of photo opportunities, with all of them looking different from the same spot!

  2. Retired One...I'm going to your site as soon as I get this posted! I haven't gotten all the way through your slide show yet but will try to today...maybe there is a way to pause it? I get interuppted a lot so end up starting over!
