About Me

My photo
A long time ago, I was a child. (I started out as Cathy First from Colon, Mi.) For the past several years I’ve been an adult. A lot of things went on between those two stages of life; probably no more or no less than anyone elses. My husband and I moved to “da U .P” from southern Lower Michigan several years ago (yes we were trolls at one time). We owned and operated and operate Clementz’s Northcountry Campground and Cabins just north of Newberry, Michigan until May 2015. We have grown kids and grandkids (who all live downstate). My passion is life and all that Nature has to offer us and trying to photograph it in unique ways. Our intention in life is to see all that Nature has to offer us. We hope that you will be a part of our adventures as we cruise through our lives together. Come back often!

UPDATE ON NEWBERRY ACCIDENT

Newberry truly is in mourning over the loss of Mike Jago II.

I am not going to post the news stories or photos of the accident scene. You can do searches for various U.P. newspapers and TV stations that have photos. It isn’t that I think it is wrong to have those photos, but I just don’t want to put reminders here of how tragic this accident is. I have seen the photos and I don't want to see them again.

The snowmobiling community is really “pulling together” for Undersheriff Jago and his family loss. The community of Newberry is pulling together as well. When I know if there is a memorial fund to contribute to, I will let you know.

It was stated on the news last night that the two troppers will be “OK”. I put that in quotes because you have to know this is weighing heavy on their hearts and mind too. So, our thoughts and prayers are with them as well.
