I had the privilege of finally meeting the 3 Nuts from Ohio yesterday! Dan had met the guys last year when they helped TASA rescue the “stuck” groomer.
They stopped by yesterday and spent a couple of hours with us. It was great getting a chance to know them a bit…and to find out they really ARE 3 Nuts! Great personalities and very conscientious snowmobilers. ..and a good sense of humor! Dan and I are REALLY going to miss our winter involvement with the snowmobiling community next year. It is people like this that make it all worthwhile.
They came “bearing gifts” for TASA which Dan will be taking in to the TASA barn this a.m. when he goes to groom. First, there is a huge box of small bags of potato chips (all kinds of flavors!) and second, there is a HEAVY bucket that contains HEAVY DUTY chains with hooks on the ends. As a reminder, these guys were the ones who gave up a whole day of sledding last winter to assist in getting a groomer unstuck. TASA did NOT have any heavy duty chain to assist in pulling the groomer out, but we did have a strap. Having chains would have been so much better, so now we DO have chains! And hopefully we won’t need to use them for pulling a groomer out of a ditch! There is always use for chains though! So thanks guys for your generosity and for stopping by and spending a couple of hours with Dan and me. I know the rest of the crew want to meet you so hopefully, you can catch up with them sometime while you are here!
On another note…is spring around the corner? This seems to be one heck of a long winter. The days ARE getting longer, light wise but it doesn’t seem like it is getting daylight any earlier than it was two months ago. 49 days till we “spring ahead” with our clocks. I thought we were supposed to have a warm up this week…it is still bitter cold this morning. 7° to be exact. Yesterday during the day was a bit warmer, and today is supposed to be in the upper teens….upper 20s would be nice. The furnace not coming on every 15 minutes would be nice too. SIGH....
- Cathy Clementz
- A long time ago, I was a child. (I started out as Cathy First from Colon, Mi.) For the past several years I’ve been an adult. A lot of things went on between those two stages of life; probably no more or no less than anyone elses. My husband and I moved to “da U .P” from southern Lower Michigan several years ago (yes we were trolls at one time). We owned and operated and operate Clementz’s Northcountry Campground and Cabins just north of Newberry, Michigan until May 2015. We have grown kids and grandkids (who all live downstate). My passion is life and all that Nature has to offer us and trying to photograph it in unique ways. Our intention in life is to see all that Nature has to offer us. We hope that you will be a part of our adventures as we cruise through our lives together. Come back often!
