About Me

My photo
A long time ago, I was a child. (I started out as Cathy First from Colon, Mi.) For the past several years I’ve been an adult. A lot of things went on between those two stages of life; probably no more or no less than anyone elses. My husband and I moved to “da U .P” from southern Lower Michigan several years ago (yes we were trolls at one time). We owned and operated and operate Clementz’s Northcountry Campground and Cabins just north of Newberry, Michigan until May 2015. We have grown kids and grandkids (who all live downstate). My passion is life and all that Nature has to offer us and trying to photograph it in unique ways. Our intention in life is to see all that Nature has to offer us. We hope that you will be a part of our adventures as we cruise through our lives together. Come back often!

Hi there Cathy! So good to hear from you. I enjoyed your blog. Tom does most of the blogging on ours. He writes in 10 minutes what takes me an hour!(was newspaper editor in Mancos for 8 years) Plus he is an early bird. . is usually up and on the computer an hour or so before I awake. The snow there looks beautiful. We are still having warm days and the snow doesn't really start here until January. But then the area is wonderful for snowmobiling, dog sledding, etc and not as cold while you are doing it as the UP. The area here hasn't really marketed the snowmobiling the way that your area has. They are missing out on the tourist dollars. We are having two dog sled races here this winter. I've been at the last two and helped with it last year. It was great fun! I am enjoying being a busy retiree. The four corners offers everything one could want for photography, which we love doing and occaisionally something even sells! The Art Co-Op that we are in just requires members work about 3 half days a month but keeps us busy with keeping stocked, promotions etc. Tom and I both do a lot of volunteer work also and it gets us out and around. We have a hillside home on about 3 acres that has a view of Mesa Verde,Mancos Valley and the local mountain ranges and beautiful sunrises and sunsets daily. So, life is good for me and I feel very fortunate. And on top of that Tom is a good caring person and a real sweetheart! Take care, I will be keeping up with you and Da other Yoopers on your blog! Sandy
