About Me

My photo
A long time ago, I was a child. (I started out as Cathy First from Colon, Mi.) For the past several years I’ve been an adult. A lot of things went on between those two stages of life; probably no more or no less than anyone elses. My husband and I moved to “da U .P” from southern Lower Michigan several years ago (yes we were trolls at one time). We owned and operated and operate Clementz’s Northcountry Campground and Cabins just north of Newberry, Michigan until May 2015. We have grown kids and grandkids (who all live downstate). My passion is life and all that Nature has to offer us and trying to photograph it in unique ways. Our intention in life is to see all that Nature has to offer us. We hope that you will be a part of our adventures as we cruise through our lives together. Come back often!

It’s awfully quiet out there….I haven’t heard from you in a while. No messages on the comments section….hmmm. It must be you are all on a nice vacation someplace warm. Or maybe you have been preparing your New Year’s resolutions? This is the first year in a very long time that I have even considered making any resolutions (notice it is PLURAL). I think I kept the one and only resolution I made last year which was to NOT eat any more chocolate than I did the year before. Snicker stock did not seem to fluctuate much this year, so I did OK.

But I have been giving careful consideration to making many resolutions this year. I thought I would share them with you. Once I share something with others, it is easier for me to “own up” to it and keep myself in check.

So here goes;

Just for today, I will not sit in my living room all day in my nightdress. Instead, I will move my computer into the bedroom.

I will no longer waste my time relieving the past; instead I will spend it worrying about the future.

I won’t worry so much.

I will give up chocolates totally. 100%. Completely. Honestly.... HAH!

I will try to figure out why I “really” need nine e-mail addresses.

I will stop sending e-mail, ICQ, Instant Messages and be on the phone at the same time with the same person.

I will spend less than one hour a day on the Internet. This, of course, will be hard to estimate since I'm not a clock watcher.

I will read the manual... just as soon as I can find it.

I will think of a password other than "password."

I will try at least ONE flavored, perfumed coffee. NO I WON’T!!! It is straight, plain coffee for this chick!

No big plans for us. Dan has the night off from grooming snowmobile trails and we have friends coming up from downstate. Problem is, we are all getting at the age where we stay up till midnight just to make sure the OLD year does actually leave. 2009 has GOT to be better, right? Please, someone agree with me???

Seriously, it is hard to believe that another year has past by…actually it was more like broke the sound barrier zooming past us. Mom and Dad were right; when you get older time does go quickly.

Anyway, I know this is Tuesday, December 30, 2008 and it won’t be N.Y. eve till tomorrow, but I won’t be “online” much tomorrow. I wanted to wish you all a very safe and happy New Years! I would add prosperous to that, but this year really has been a year of “The Lord giveth and the government taketh away.”

Well no wonder it's quiet out here...we're all whispering!

Had to smile at your resolutionts...at least you took pen to paper (that has to be worth something).

May you and yours enjoy much healthy happiness in the new year......and I'm sure we won't be shedding any tears to say adieu to 2008.

  2. Anonymous, ah, ha! THAT'S why it is so quiet!

I resolved to only have resolutions that are funny ( as in funny ha, ha, not funny odd). Watching my weight does NOT need to be one of them as I keep it right where I can see it.

    Happy New Year!

LOL on the weight, just like my "seefood" diet....I see it and I eat it. Good Luck and Happy New Year to you and yours.

  4. Gary, I'm glad to know I'm not the only one with food issues. And I DO have a million dollar figure....problem is it is all in loose change!

  5. He,ha,ha.....too funny. the sand in my hour glass has all shifted to the bottom.
