Today is the opening day of deer season and there is a skiff of snow. Last weekend (I THINK it was last weekend) we had about 8-10" of snow on the ground.
So with the snow in mind,
Hey sled heads!!! WAKE UP! GETS THOSE MACHINES READY!!! Send kids to safety classes and brush up on your safety as well! The start of the season is around the corner!
You probably know that about a week ago, we had 8-10" of snow. Of course, it didn't last but there is snow in our upcoming forecast starting with the opening day of deer season, November 15th.
And here we go again with my same speech that I've given you every year for the past 8 years or so....IT DOESN'T MATTER HOW MUCH SNOW IS ON THE GROUND, IF YOU COME UPON A CLOSED GATE, DO NOT GO AROUND IT! That gate is there for a reason and if any of you are new to the sport and don't know anything about this, please feel free to email me at email@example.com and I will explain it to you.
Muzzle loading season for our zone is December 5 to sundown December 14th. IF there is snow enough to groom north of the private property that north # 9 crosses, then TASA will groom that. We cannot groom private property until after muzzle loading season unless the land owners "get lucky" and get their deer and open the gates to us.
TASA trails are prepped, signed, brushed and just waiting for the local DNR to inspect the work, so we're waiting for ya to come up and play!
NOW FOR SOME REALLY EXCITING, IMPORTANT NEWS!!! President Bob Brown (AKA Trail Boss Bob, AKA Groomer Bob and some AKA's that I can't put in print) has received the Michigan Groomer of the Year award! Congrats to Bob and all of those that support him! Now, he just needs to get back to work! HA!
DON'T FORGET THAT WE OFFER LODGING THROUGH THE WINTER MONTHS! Visit our website at www.northcountrycampground.com to see photos and description. Prices and cancellation policies can be found on our rates page. Please note the cancellation policy for camping is different from the lodging so make sure you are reading the correct one.
- Cathy Clementz
- A long time ago, I was a child. (I started out as Cathy First from Colon, Mi.) For the past several years I’ve been an adult. A lot of things went on between those two stages of life; probably no more or no less than anyone elses. My husband and I moved to “da U .P” from southern Lower Michigan several years ago (yes we were trolls at one time). We owned and operated and operate Clementz’s Northcountry Campground and Cabins just north of Newberry, Michigan until May 2015. We have grown kids and grandkids (who all live downstate). My passion is life and all that Nature has to offer us and trying to photograph it in unique ways. Our intention in life is to see all that Nature has to offer us. We hope that you will be a part of our adventures as we cruise through our lives together. Come back often!
