About Me

My photo
A long time ago, I was a child. (I started out as Cathy First from Colon, Mi.) For the past several years I’ve been an adult. A lot of things went on between those two stages of life; probably no more or no less than anyone elses. My husband and I moved to “da U .P” from southern Lower Michigan several years ago (yes we were trolls at one time). We owned and operated and operate Clementz’s Northcountry Campground and Cabins just north of Newberry, Michigan until May 2015. We have grown kids and grandkids (who all live downstate). My passion is life and all that Nature has to offer us and trying to photograph it in unique ways. Our intention in life is to see all that Nature has to offer us. We hope that you will be a part of our adventures as we cruise through our lives together. Come back often!

GAS SHORTAGES

There just isn't any good news any place, is there? It is depressing....

BUT, as far as the "gas shortages" that are being reported in Tennessee, Georgia, Virginia, Maryland and Pennslyvania I've been told it isn't because there isn't gas, but it is due to NO POWER to pump the gas OUT of the tanks and into the tankers that transport the fuel to gas stations. THIS part I have not heard on any news stations. This info was given to me by a wife of a gas tanker driver in Kentucky. I guess time will tell.

The fall colors are coming on. I'd say we are at about 30-40% in our area. Today is kind of a dismal day. I was hoping for the dark sky on the west side of the tree line to be enhanced by the sunshine that is TRYING to peep out from the east. That would make a good photo to put up, but it hasn't happened yet!

You can check out my fall color report at http://www.newberrychamber.net/, http://www.newberrytourism.com/, http://www.visitnewberry.com/ or our website at http://www.northcountrycampground.com/. If you go to OUR website, scroll down down to the bottom of the first page and there is a link to take you to the report.

We, Clementz's Northcountry Campground and Cabins, do still have lodging open (depending on your dates) between now and when we close on October 18th. There are lots of campsites available, but if you want full hook up, make a reservation. They are the first to go.

Hope to see ya soon!
