I have decided to not listen to any national news until Wednesday. I will try to catch the local news and weather.
I HAVE signed up for Google alerts for “gas shortages in America”…so far I didn’t get any of those today. At least N. Carolina is getting gas and it sounds like it is better in Tennessee. AND the stories did say it was mainly a shortage of regular gas. Not any of the stories I read said anything about diesel fuel.
I don’t even know if Wachovia has been purchased over night and I don’t think I WANT to know…unless it was purchased by Citi Corp. That means if it was purchased by Citi Corp that any traveler’s checks that we buy for our trip (assuming we still can go) should be honored. I did see Citi Corp’s main office building flashed on the TV yesterday but nothing was said about it. Maybe our bank offers Visa traveler’s checks.
And I have a new thought on how the government can get out of this mess. I think I will start forwarding all those “junk mails” that I get with the subject line of “get out of debt”, “consolidate your debt”, “can’t afford your mortgage, in foreclosure?”, “Loans for anyone for anything”. I bet those guys on the Hill aren’t even aware of all of these places that promise to save your butt!
I’ve had only two emails from people trying to guess which cute little kid is me in that photo, so I guess I will just tell ya…2nd row, first girl on the left….and no, the feminine creature in crinoline isn’t me. And the only other photo I have of me that is digital is one I posted last year during the Sleeper Lake Fire where I was sitting “at the controls” of a Black Hawk.
- Cathy Clementz
- A long time ago, I was a child. (I started out as Cathy First from Colon, Mi.) For the past several years I’ve been an adult. A lot of things went on between those two stages of life; probably no more or no less than anyone elses. My husband and I moved to “da U .P” from southern Lower Michigan several years ago (yes we were trolls at one time). We owned and operated and operate Clementz’s Northcountry Campground and Cabins just north of Newberry, Michigan until May 2015. We have grown kids and grandkids (who all live downstate). My passion is life and all that Nature has to offer us and trying to photograph it in unique ways. Our intention in life is to see all that Nature has to offer us. We hope that you will be a part of our adventures as we cruise through our lives together. Come back often!
