About Me

My photo
A long time ago, I was a child. (I started out as Cathy First from Colon, Mi.) For the past several years I’ve been an adult. A lot of things went on between those two stages of life; probably no more or no less than anyone elses. My husband and I moved to “da U .P” from southern Lower Michigan several years ago (yes we were trolls at one time). We owned and operated and operate Clementz’s Northcountry Campground and Cabins just north of Newberry, Michigan until May 2015. We have grown kids and grandkids (who all live downstate). My passion is life and all that Nature has to offer us and trying to photograph it in unique ways. Our intention in life is to see all that Nature has to offer us. We hope that you will be a part of our adventures as we cruise through our lives together. Come back often!

Just a quick note to let ya know I am on crutches and not going to be much at my desk. If you post a comment, please understand that it might not get "approved" for a day or two. This just happened this a.m. (the crutches I mean) and I'll fill ya in some other time.

I hope that you are O.K. and not hurt too bad?????

    Jerry :)

  2. Jerry, thanks. No, I'm not hurt too badly; the vicodin does wonders! HA! What hurts today is under my arms and across my chest from using the crutches and muscles that haven't been used for such purposes before! I'll fill everyone on in a couple of days. Nothing exciting believe me.

I'm glad that its not much more than an overuse injury. I am a runner and those things do happen when your body is not ready for all the use. So try to stay down and you'll be up faster.

  4. Buckeye Paul, I sure HOPE that is all it is! Still hurts but now my knee is involved too. I think that is probably from the way I'm "walking", so I've been putting heat on my knee and ice on my ankle!

Jeeze Cathy. I hope you start feeling better really soon. I'm sure you are chomping at the bit to get out in the Spring weather and do some work around the campgrounds. Hang in there!
Awesome that the lake levels are rising! I'd never seen the lakes as low as they were in 2006. Are the inland lakes back to normal?

  6. BP..for short!

Inland lakes are looking pretty good.

Yes, I am anxious to get out and work! I waited all winter to be able to go for walks without bumping into snowbanks!
