About Me

My photo
A long time ago, I was a child. (I started out as Cathy First from Colon, Mi.) For the past several years I’ve been an adult. A lot of things went on between those two stages of life; probably no more or no less than anyone elses. My husband and I moved to “da U .P” from southern Lower Michigan several years ago (yes we were trolls at one time). We owned and operated and operate Clementz’s Northcountry Campground and Cabins just north of Newberry, Michigan until May 2015. We have grown kids and grandkids (who all live downstate). My passion is life and all that Nature has to offer us and trying to photograph it in unique ways. Our intention in life is to see all that Nature has to offer us. We hope that you will be a part of our adventures as we cruise through our lives together. Come back often!

ITCHY-COO PARK

This didn't turn out very well, but this is a couple of close up shots of my arm and a welt from here I had lain my arm on the cold counter in the office last night. It just gives you an idea of how sensitive I have become to the cold. And this is JUST one spot on my arm. I knew the counter was cold, but I had some stuff to do. And there was my clothing between the counter and my arm. My feet, ankles, knees, my hiney, etc can get like this too. Fortunately, my fingers and hands just plain itch like crazy. I suppose if I didn't keep my gloves on they could look like this as well. Now that the allergic reaction to the cold is affecting my neck, ears, around my eyes and lips I tend to get a bit nervous. Sometimes at night, if I don't realize it and my arm comes in contact with the wooden headboard on our bed, I will end up with welts and itching because the headboard is cool to the touch.

It was about 4 a.m. this morning when the welt was just a "faint memory"; it takes that long for them to go away. At least it had stopped itching about 15 minutes after it developed.

Arizona is looking better and better.....
