THE CONTINUING SAGA OF THE FURNACE PROBLEM; It seems like the fumes are getting worse instead of better (since the guy put in the new “smoke stack” two days ago). Dan even crawled into the crawl space about 4 p.m. yesterday to make sure nothing had blocked that cold air return. Everything was fine there.
So, Dan, with his trusty flashlight, had me shut the lights off in the rooms that are close to the furnace area, had me turn up the heat, and viola! There is smoke coming out of that new smokestack! It is just when it starts up, but it is there! The old stack was rusty and had a dent in the back so it made sense that IT would stink, but this one isn't sealed off at the top and one of the joints is not seated! He called the Furnace Fella and left a message last night about 7 p.m. and I will call again at 8 when they open. HOPEFULLY this is it! It doesn’t help to open a window, unless you plan on standing in front of it with your nose sticking outside in the 20° air. The open window just draws the stink out MORE from the furnace.
BEFORE I FORGET, people with YAHOO email addresses….let it be known that Yahoo is rejecting email sent from Lighthouse addresses. I don’t know HOW many that I had returned from Yahoo yesterday. This has been an ongoing problem since last spring. Lighthouse thought the issue was cleared up but apparently it is not. Yahoo has “black listed” Lighthouse email addresses because several months ago some Lighthouse email addresses had been “compromised” and those peoples’ email account (without the knowledge OF these people) were sending out spam and junk to Yahoo accounts. Sometimes if I resend the message 2-3 more times it does finally get through, so if you have a Yahoo address and you think I’m ignoring your emails, that is not the case.
- Cathy Clementz
- A long time ago, I was a child. (I started out as Cathy First from Colon, Mi.) For the past several years I’ve been an adult. A lot of things went on between those two stages of life; probably no more or no less than anyone elses. My husband and I moved to “da U .P” from southern Lower Michigan several years ago (yes we were trolls at one time). We owned and operated and operate Clementz’s Northcountry Campground and Cabins just north of Newberry, Michigan until May 2015. We have grown kids and grandkids (who all live downstate). My passion is life and all that Nature has to offer us and trying to photograph it in unique ways. Our intention in life is to see all that Nature has to offer us. We hope that you will be a part of our adventures as we cruise through our lives together. Come back often!
