About Me

My photo
A long time ago, I was a child. (I started out as Cathy First from Colon, Mi.) For the past several years I’ve been an adult. A lot of things went on between those two stages of life; probably no more or no less than anyone elses. My husband and I moved to “da U .P” from southern Lower Michigan several years ago (yes we were trolls at one time). We owned and operated and operate Clementz’s Northcountry Campground and Cabins just north of Newberry, Michigan until May 2015. We have grown kids and grandkids (who all live downstate). My passion is life and all that Nature has to offer us and trying to photograph it in unique ways. Our intention in life is to see all that Nature has to offer us. We hope that you will be a part of our adventures as we cruise through our lives together. Come back often!

STATE WORKERS ARE TO REPORT TO WORK!!!! I'm sure you will read or hear all about it but I just now saw it as a crawler at the bottom of the news I'm watching! Must be we are getting an increase in taxes!

  1. Hi, Cathy,
    Try this website http://www.nopaypoliticians.com/

I signed it yesterday and sent it on to my friends/family. My husband and I are in the unique situation of no longer being able to practice our professions (social worker and electrician) due to licensing updates from our fine Michigan legislature (I took time off from social work to have our children & stay with them while they're young and my husband took time away from being an electrician to try his hand at being a contractor. During that time laws were passed making it impossible for us to return because we let our licenses lapse--we can't even be grandfathered in. We are so screwed and have lost our professions! We are now working as much as we can and facing bankruptcy. Life in Michigan...

  2. Thanks for posting that website. I will check it out.

Good luck with everything going on in your lives. It is very discouraging, but try to remain positive. That will make the days go quicker...well, at least it works for me. It is so hard to not be discouraged.
