About Me

My photo
A long time ago, I was a child. (I started out as Cathy First from Colon, Mi.) For the past several years I’ve been an adult. A lot of things went on between those two stages of life; probably no more or no less than anyone elses. My husband and I moved to “da U .P” from southern Lower Michigan several years ago (yes we were trolls at one time). We owned and operated and operate Clementz’s Northcountry Campground and Cabins just north of Newberry, Michigan until May 2015. We have grown kids and grandkids (who all live downstate). My passion is life and all that Nature has to offer us and trying to photograph it in unique ways. Our intention in life is to see all that Nature has to offer us. We hope that you will be a part of our adventures as we cruise through our lives together. Come back often!

RAINDROPS KEEP FALLIN' ON MY HEAD

WE HAVE HAD RAIN!!!! It has been raining HARD all morning!!! There are mud puddles and rivers running in the driveway and campground roads!

Even though we have two bird baths for our winged friends (and toads, and chipmunks and racoons use one of them as well), the birds were thoroughly enjoying the downpours this morning. It was so funny to see them sitting in these rivers of water which were running downhill...as were the birds who were bathing and splashing around! The hummers looked like miniature eagles playing in the rain, sitting on their perches. They would "fan" their wings and tail out and "hunch" up their tiny shoulders (no other way to describe it) and just enjoy the rain.

There isn't any news on the fire and as I always say, that has to be GOOD news. I'm hoping all these darn skunks will head north pretty soon. Things are starting to green up again every where. And I think the salmon WILL be able to swim upstream to spawn!

Catch ya later!
