We've been so busy with all the fire updates that the changing of the season from summer to fall has snuck up on me!
I have started to update the fall color report (there is a link on the right hand column to that report) and it won't be long (I HOPE!!) before I'll be updating the Eastern U.P. Snowmobile Trail report! So with that in mind, and due to all the emails I've been getting about how the fire has affected the trail system, here are some teasers for you sled heads!
I haven't read anything yet about what the Weather Wizards think will come this winter. And, if we're gonna go by "old farmer signs", I have NOT seen any caterpillars. But it does seem like there are less humming birds this week than last week. We haven't seen any red wing black birds in a LONG time, no robins (probably went in search of worms where there has been rain).
We are DUE for an old fashioned winter with our normal 176" of snow! We should have snow for Christmas! Shoulda, coulda, woulda...we all know ya can't fool Mother Nature, Old Man Winter or White Precipitus!
As far as how the fire has affected the trail system...it wasn't even at the trail system so no problem with that.
As far as the pictures; the kids on the sled are self explanatory. The picture of the group of guys was taken last winter here. They were guests in our Little Lodge and cozy cabins. The one of snow and headlights is a groomer out grooming one of our trails. The one of the groomer operator in the groomer is self explanatory. Hubby Dan isn't sure if he will be grooming this winter or not. It depends on how his knees do....so far so good!
Catch you sled heads later!
