I just was down to "command central" and they don't really have any new info for me. I called the District Field office and was told that at this point, no structures have been damaged and the fire has not gotten to the Spile Dam area. As I was trying to get back on M-123, I gladly waited for a whole procession of big dozers and things that looked like army tanks, only they weren't enclosed. These had Federal stickers on them. They were headed north. It doesn't look like M-123 north of us will be open any time soon because of them needing complete access of the road with all of this equipment.
I will be in touch...right now, I'm busy with our guest book on our campground website www.northcountrycampground.com. Once there, click on VACATION VIBES AND REFLECTIVE VIEWS. Feel free to take a look! It is a day for issues, I guess!
- Cathy Clementz
- A long time ago, I was a child. (I started out as Cathy First from Colon, Mi.) For the past several years I’ve been an adult. A lot of things went on between those two stages of life; probably no more or no less than anyone elses. My husband and I moved to “da U .P” from southern Lower Michigan several years ago (yes we were trolls at one time). We owned and operated and operate Clementz’s Northcountry Campground and Cabins just north of Newberry, Michigan until May 2015. We have grown kids and grandkids (who all live downstate). My passion is life and all that Nature has to offer us and trying to photograph it in unique ways. Our intention in life is to see all that Nature has to offer us. We hope that you will be a part of our adventures as we cruise through our lives together. Come back often!
