About Me

My photo
A long time ago, I was a child. (I started out as Cathy First from Colon, Mi.) For the past several years I’ve been an adult. A lot of things went on between those two stages of life; probably no more or no less than anyone elses. My husband and I moved to “da U .P” from southern Lower Michigan several years ago (yes we were trolls at one time). We owned and operated and operate Clementz’s Northcountry Campground and Cabins just north of Newberry, Michigan until May 2015. We have grown kids and grandkids (who all live downstate). My passion is life and all that Nature has to offer us and trying to photograph it in unique ways. Our intention in life is to see all that Nature has to offer us. We hope that you will be a part of our adventures as we cruise through our lives together. Come back often!

ORV ACCIDENT CLAIMS TWO LIVES

There has been one recent snowmobile fatality in the Western U.P. this past weekend. This story is about an ORV accident. Just a reminder to please, PLEASE be careful, what ever sport you are participating in.

BRANCH TWP. — Two Muskegon residents are dead following an early Saturday morning off-road vehicle accident, according to a Mason County Sheriff’s Office report.

Alicia Raye Boes, 20, of Muskegon, and Richard Allan Harley II, 23, also of Muskegon, died when the four-wheeler they were riding at 3 a.m. Saturday on Landon Road near Barothy Road left the roadway and struck a tree, a sheriff’s report stated.

Both were pronounced dead at the scene. Neither victim was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, according to the report.

Deputies believe speed was a factor in the incident.

The Victim’s Assistance Unit, Branch Township Fire Department, and Life EMS assisted in the incident. Deputies are continuing to investigate the crash, and autopsies are scheduled for today
