About Me

My photo
A long time ago, I was a child. (I started out as Cathy First from Colon, Mi.) For the past several years I’ve been an adult. A lot of things went on between those two stages of life; probably no more or no less than anyone elses. My husband and I moved to “da U .P” from southern Lower Michigan several years ago (yes we were trolls at one time). We owned and operated and operate Clementz’s Northcountry Campground and Cabins just north of Newberry, Michigan until May 2015. We have grown kids and grandkids (who all live downstate). My passion is life and all that Nature has to offer us and trying to photograph it in unique ways. Our intention in life is to see all that Nature has to offer us. We hope that you will be a part of our adventures as we cruise through our lives together. Come back often!

DON'T MESS WITH MY DRIVEWAY!!

Since we moved up here in 1992, we have considered the Mackinac Bridge our driveway. WHY? Because everything up here is a drive to get to..from one town to the other it is a drive and you see a lot of trees inbetween, which is fine by us! So that is why I called this DON'T MESS WITH MY DRIVEWAY...read the following good news!

MACKINAC BRIDGE NEVER TARGETED FOR TERRORISM

The FBI says three men carrying 1,000 cell phones never targeted the Mackinac Bridge for terrorism. Police arrested the three Texas men in Caro on Friday, and found all the cell phones in their van. The phones can be used as explosive detonators. The Tuscola County prosecutor linked the Mackinac Bridge to a terrorist threat after finding photos and videos of it with the men. Yesterday afternoon, investigators announced there is no connection between the men and any known terrorist groups. They also say there is no imminent threat against the Mackinac Bridge or any other location in Michigan. The FBI interviewed the suspects for seven hours and say some signs point to fraudulent or criminal activity.
